Christmas Beauty Stocking Fillers For Her

christmas beauty stocking filler ideas for her

On Christmas day, aside from spending time with family and eating my bodyweight in roast potatoes, I get most excited about the contents of my stocking. If there's still some room to squeeze a couple of beauty-related presents in *insert appropriate friend or relation here*'s stocking, then I may have a few ideas to help you out. Continue reading for some stocking filler inspiration.

Laura Mercier do Christmas gift sets so well and they're not as pricey as you may think. The Laura Mercier La Petite Patisserie Hand Creme Quartet would make a great collection for anyone that uses hand cream often, but maybe needs to be treated to something more special then their usual tube of Nivea. Or, you could split up the set and pop one into a few stockings. Laura Mercier's skincare products are so decadent with their gourmand fragrances, turning mundane, everyday essentials into a real treat.

If your loved one likes lip products, then the Lipstick Queen Three To Thrill Chinatown Pencil Lipstick Set could be right up their street. You get three of their mini Chinatown pencils, that act as a liner, lipstick and gloss in one. The three shades in this set, a nude pink, dusky rose and bright watermelon will suit all skin-tones and, as they're sheer in finish, they can be pared down or built up to be as strong as you like.

Everyone needs lip balm at this time of year and my favourite of the bunch is the Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm. Thick and rich, it doesn't just sit on the surface and do nothing, but penetrates and properly softens any flakey patches. The pot that's on my side-table at the moment, has lasted for a year (it may be time to renew...), so the extra expense is worth it.

Another lip product that I can imagine would be welcome in lots of stockings, is one of the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains. A lip stain/gloss hybrid, they give a non-sticky, translucent wash of colour on the first swipe, but can be layered up to deepen the colour and give a vinyl shine. Lasting for hours, they'd make the perfect lip product for wearing as you eat your way through Christmas dinner! There's plenty of shades to choose from, whether your loved one prefers something nude and natural or bright and bold.

The gold tones that make up the Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio in Voyage are just right for Christmas time. I really can't fault the formula; the shadows are soft, they blend like a dream and the colour pigments are strong. All three shades are shot through with lots of shimmer, but as it's finely-milled, they have a satin-like sheen to them, rather than an overly glittery finish. Eyeshadow palettes that give you a complete look in one compact are so handy for traveling, so this trio would be ideal for anyone that regularly takes trips away or applies their makeup on a long journey to work, each morning.

Loreal's La Palette Nude Eyeshadow Palette in Rose makes a cheaper alternative to the legendary Urban Decay Naked Palette series, which is always popular for Christmas. With a total of ten, neutral shades, half of which having a mauve twist, whoever received this in their stocking would have plenty of eye looks to create. Formula-wise, the shadows aren't as impressive as UD's, but they're decent for the price-point. So, this may be a stocking filler best reserved for teens who are just starting to get into makeup, rather than someone older that may be disappointed by the consistency.

If we could only choose one makeup product to use for the rest of our lives, I'm sure most people would opt for mascara. Who wouldn't like longer, thicker-looking lashes? Popping a tube of your favourite mascara into your friend's stocking not only saves them a future repurchase, but they could also discover a new, holy-grail product. One of my most-loved mascaras is the Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara, which gives precise separation and length, with zero clumps, thanks to the small, tapered, plastic wand. It won't leave lashes looking spidery or dry, so I think anyone of any age will be a fan.

Nail polish always makes a nice addition to a stocking and I think Rococo's Nail Enamels are perfect. Each polish comes in its own, lavishly decorated box, so you can even skip wrapping. The brand has a trend-led approach to their shade range, but they also offer plenty of classic colours, so there's always something exciting and unique in their line. Every varnish I've tried from the brand has gone on quickly and evenly thanks to the wide brush, been opaque in two coats and has worn well with only minor chipping after a week.

Jo Malone London. That's all that needs to be said really. Her timeless scents are sophisticated and addictive, but they're all totally different. There's the fresh and fruity Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia Cologne, the warm and spicy Jo Malone Myrrh and Tonka Cologne Intense and the rich juiciness of Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Cologne. Personally, my all-time favourite is the Jo Malone Assam and Grapefruit Cologne, which is deep and warm, but has a citrus hint to it, that makes it perfect all year round. Of course, all of that fragrance magic comes at a price, but the smaller, 30ml bottles are more affordable at £40.

Everyone needs to update their makeup bag from time to time, as they tend to get a bit shabby. The cute Happy Jackson Kiss + Make Up Makeup Bag has a quirky design and the bright, turquoise colour make it a fun option. Slim enough to fit into any handbag, it can hold all the makeup essentials that anyone would need on-the-go. It could be doubled-up as a pencil case for younger girls, too.
