Tom Ford cosmetics are the epitome of luxury in the beauty world; everything from the formulas, packaging and price-tag is premium. They're so highly raved about (I don't think I've seen one negative review yet), chances are you've been tempted to pick up absolutely everything on display at the stunning beauty counters. For the majority, though, making a Tom Ford purchase isn't something you do on a whim, as spontaneously splurging so much on one product can be risky. After lots of careful consideration, swatching up a storm and showing bucket loads of self-control, I recently came home with two treats - the Tom Ford Love Lust Cheek Color and Tom Ford Indian Rose Lip Color, but do they live up to the hype?
Being one of the most opulent beauty lines out there, Tom Ford products verge on extortionate and, unsurprisingly, everything about the brand screams ultimate luxe, as it should do! Let's face it, we all love products that make us feel extra special and that little more glam than usual. Yes, the embossed products and gold accents help to make the packaging look and feel ultra chic, but, fortunately, it's not a case of style over substance with Tom Ford. Spoiler - These products perform exceptionally well and I have to say that, now I've dipped my toe into Tom Ford's waters, I don't think it'll be long before I'm showing you some more additions to my collection.
First up, we have the Tom Ford 01 Love Lust. Not only is Love Lust the most perfect shade of coral pink blush that I could imagine, being saturated with a fine, golden shimmer, but the texture is also divine. So velvety, the powder feels as smooth as a cream formula and blends effortlessly on to the apple of the cheek. This particular shade gives the cheek quite a large amount of sheen, almost acting as a blush and highlight in one, and I love how it instantly brightens up the face. As the pigmentation is so strong, you need to go lightly with your brush and be sure to layer to build the colour, rather than apply too much all at once and find it a struggle to tone down. The sleek packaging is, of course, so sophisticated, but it isn't as weighted as I'd expect for such a luxury brand. It can also end up covered in fingerprints due to the glossy finish of the compact, which spoils it a bit. Saying that, although it may not feel quite as fancy as it could, it does make it a better option for travelling with. Tom Ford is the epitome of luxury beauty, so the price is bound to reflect that. It is somewhat of a guilt-inducing amount to spend on a single blush, but once you see and the feel the quality of these powder formulas, it's so hard to resist picking one up. One extra bonus - they are so pigmented that they last forever!
The Tom Ford Lip Colors are just perfect in every possible way in my eyes, but 04 Indian Rose, a deep, rosy-brown nude, has completely stolen my heart. This shade does have a slight bit of silver shimmer running through it, but it doesn't noticeably translate on to the lips at all and helps to give a fuller, more radiant finish. I've heard that this is the best selling shade of the relaunched Tom Ford Lip Color collection and I can definitely see why! Texture wise, the creamy formula just melts onto the lips, but not to the point that the colour slips and slides everywhere. Part of the original Lip Colour line-up, Indian Rose offers a moisturising, satin finish, which isn't glossy or sticky, and doesn't start to crack or cake at the edges when you layer it. Thanks to the opaque pigmentation you get from just one slick of the lipstick, the colour lasts impressively (five hours before needing a touch-up in my experience), even without using a lipliner alongside it. Tom Ford's Lipsticks are definitely an investment, but a damn good one, that's for sure!
