Eye makeup becomes a lot richer and less precisely applied in autumn. Smudging jewel-tones and metallics all around the eyes gives a sexy, lived-in look, that can be achieved in a flash.
When it comes to that time of pulling chunky knitwear from the depths of your wardrobe, drinking copious amounts of hot chocolate and switching bare legs for tights, I am in heaven. There's only one thing I don't look forward to when the transition into A/W begins. When the seasons start to change, my skin goes into a bit of a crisis. I'm not just talking about a little redness around my nose and the need to up the ante with my moisturisers. No, I need a full-on overhaul to keep dryness and irritation at bay, for my body, face, lips and tips. Hard working products, come at me!
Move over brights, it's time for us to slick some darker shades onto our nails, now that autumn has arrived. If you couldn't tell already, the colder seasons are my favourites. I've been craving A/W makeup looks for over a month now, holding off on using richer, deeper tones until the unseasonably warm weather passed. When it comes to nails, I like to stray from the classic, predictable reds in autumn, leaving them for when things start to get a little more festive. Instead, as you can see, I tend to be drawn to blues and purples. One red has sneaked into this post and I've also been obsessed with another shade that I mentioned in my September Beauty Favourites, but other than those flitting dalliances, I'll be saving my red varnishes until Christmas time.
