As soon as September arrives, I get all excited. Not only is it my birthday on the 6th, but the season starts to transition from summer to autumn, which is my favourite time of year. Layering up in chunky knits, the crisp air, cozy nights in, burning candles and the festive cups from Starbuck's - I love it. Best of all, I of course adore the beauty trends and, predictably, my favourites from last month reflect the changes that I've been making when it comes to my makeup.
Usually, I switch up my makeup on a daily basis, choosing different products to cater to my change in mood, the weather or how my skin is feeling. Falling into bad habits recently, the cooler climate has made me want to stay in bed past my regular, 7am wake-up call, so I haven't had as much time to rifle through my collection every morning. Instead, I've filled my makeup bag with a variety of staple products and, for once, I've been happy to stick with them for longer than a week.
I'm Alice and I'm a shopaholic, especially when it comes to beauty products. One of my favourite things to do is to hit the aisles of Boots and peruse the premium counters in department stores, searching for new additions to my collection. But, as much as I can't wait to get my hands on the waves of never-ending new releases, I have a selection of trusty ol' favourites that I'd be lost without. If I've repurchased a product, that speaks volumes about how much I rate it, so here's five makeup must-haves that I need to have in my stocks at all times.

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Make-up Base Review + Swatch
14:01Alice GraceIn the beauty world, some products come and go without much of a buzz, whilst others rocket up to cult-favourite, must-have status, in days. I don't always like to give in to the hype, at least straight away, and let it settle before I take the plunge and make a purchase, to see if the commotion dies down or remains strong. With the constant influx of new products, if a certain product remains in the limelight, then that's an indicator that it's something pretty special. So I thought that I'd give you the low-down on which products I think are deserving of the hype surrounding them.
Nars do limited-edition palettes like no-one else and they have a hold on me. Fretting that I may miss out on the opportunity to get my paws on one, as each release is bound to be a sell-out, I practically sprinted to Space NK to pick up their latest, the Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette. Oh boy, it's a beauty!
Summer is finally here and it's time to mix things up beauty-wise. To make the transition from Spring to Summer, there's a few makeup trends that I intend to incorporate into my look, including natural-looking, glowing skin and a bright lip.
Over the past, few weeks, I've come to the end of some of my trusty, summer favourites and some newer additions to my beauty regimes. I'm sad to see the majority of them go, but it just gives me an excuse to go out and either repurchase or find something else to fill their gaps. That isn't so bad, but when a beloved product has fallen foul of a brand's decision to discontinue, it isn't always quite so easy.
This time round, my monthly favourites are pretty makeup heavy. There are a couple of products in there that I've had in my to-try pile for a while, but have only just got round to opening and consistently using. I'm sad to see August pass us by, as the weather will only head in a downwards spiral now, but the start of September is always welcome, as I adore Autumn/Winter. Plus, my birthday is less than a week away! I digress. Let's get back to business, shall we?
So, I thought I'd share with you the contents of my makeup bag, telling you about and showing you what I'm currently using religiously. I often forget about just how great the staples that I have in my various routines are, as I'm always searching for products which might top them. With new products constantly coming out, various collections being released and the sudden surges of hype about another must-have, my poor, little selection of holy grail products get a bit neglected. I'm sure I'm not the only culprit of that, am I?

Apologies that this month's favourites are a little late - you know how busy the end of the year can be!
What with all the festivities, parties and seeing lots of people that you might not see too often, December is a month that is all about wanting to look your best. With that in mind, the products that I was loving last month were all about getting me party ready and keeping me that way, right through the entire month.
