I love setting sprays. They have the amazing ability to almost melt together makeup so that everything looks smooth, any chalky residues disappear and the longevity of your base is improved. Before now, I've always remained loyal to Urban Decay's selection, but with an influx of finishing mists flooding the high-street market recently, I thought I'd give some cheaper options a try. Starting with the L'Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist. 

Valentine's Day. Whether you lap up the love or consider it a cringe-worthy, Hallmark holiday, I think it's always a nice excuse to celebrate relationships with anyone you care for, not just your partner. If you're single, then getting glammed up and heading for a night out with friends is always a winner and, if you're loved up, it's always nice to make a bit of an extra effort with your makeup, whether you're Netflix & chillin' or going for a fancy, romantic dinner. Last year, I wore quite a neutral makeup look and opted for a bold lip, but this year I wanted to make the eyes the main feature and create something a bit more daring, colour-wise.

New Year's Eve is the night I like to go all-out with my makeup. I'm talking all the sparkle. This year, I'm heading to party so have the perfect excuse to get all dressed up, but to be honest, I'd do the same even if I was planning on just cosying up in front of a film with a bag of pic n' mix. This year, I've put together a look featuring glittery, golden eyes, glowing skin and a classic, red lip.

As soon as September arrives, I get all excited. Not only is it my birthday on the 6th, but the season starts to transition from summer to autumn, which is my favourite time of year. Layering up in chunky knits, the crisp air, cozy nights in, burning candles and the festive cups from Starbuck's - I love it. Best of all, I of course adore the beauty trends and, predictably, my favourites from last month reflect the changes that I've been making when it comes to my makeup.

I'm Alice and I'm a shopaholic, especially when it comes to beauty products. One of my favourite things to do is to hit the aisles of Boots and peruse the premium counters in department stores, searching for new additions to my collection. But, as much as I can't wait to get my hands on the waves of never-ending new releases, I have a selection of trusty ol' favourites that I'd be lost without. If I've repurchased a product, that speaks volumes about how much I rate it, so here's five makeup must-haves that I need to have in my stocks at all times.

Although L'Oreal released their take on the perfect, eyeshadow palette last year, I restrained myself and gave it a miss. Full of pink and purple tones, I just couldn't warrant adding a palette I may not use often enough to my already overflowing, makeup drawers. Then recently, a brown-toned version hit the shelves and I decided to add them both to my collection. I just can't help myself!

After wearing thicker foundations, darker eyeshadows and berry lips for the past, six months, I'm so excited to pare my makeup back and give myself a fresher, glowing look. Spring makeup is all about radiant skin, rosy cheeks and some brighter hues and I've found a great selection of affordable products to deliver just that.

February was just another cold, miserable month for me, up until my boyfriend and I hopped on a plane and headed to Dubai. Apologies for my lack of posts recently; I thought I'd have a little break and switch off from the Internet as much as possible, whilst on holiday. Regular uploading has now resumed. Thanks to my time in the sunshine, last month's favourites include some holiday-only additions, which wouldn't usually appear on the blog until May, at least.

Not everyone agrees, but I love Valentine's day. Whether you spend time with your other half, get together with your friends or spend time with a relative, it's a nice way to appreciate and celebrate the love you share with others. This year, I think my guy and I will go out for the day and then stay in with a few films, some wine and lots of tasty treats. Usually, we'd don our glad rags and go out for dinner and drinks, but seeing as we're heading to Dubai in two weeks, we thought we'd save some pennies instead.

If you can't wear a bit of sparkle around Christmas time, then when can you? I, for one, like to add some shimmer and glitter to my eyes all year round, and I have a selection of trusty favourites that I thought I'd share with you.

I've been pulled into Boots and Superdrug like a moth to a flame recently and have found some new gems and rediscovered some old favourites that I was crazy about back in the day. Yes, I love luxury products, but it feels so good finding cheaper dupes that don't wipe out the contents of my purse completely.

I'm no makeup artist, but I've been addicted to and used makeup for a pretty lengthy amount of years and I don't think I'm too shabby at applying it. On my own face, anyway. Rather than just posting lots of same-y FOTDs, I thought it would be nice to simply post a couple of photos of some different looks, listing all the products used and a very brief snippet of what I think of them. This time round, I thought I'd use all drugstore/highstreet makeup brands to create a neutral, everyday look.
