Back in the day, I was just as crazy about MAC as every other beauty-obsessed teen. I'd spend any extra cash I had on attempting to squeeze the entirety of my local counter into my makeup drawers. Since then, my fixation with the brand has calmed significantly and, as a result of giving other brands some attention, I'm now left with a ton of neglected products. But, there is a handful of gems that I still adore and reach for on the regular. I may get frustrated at the constant flipping and changing of their prices, but MAC will forever remain one of my most-loved brands, so here are my top picks of their products.
With the constant stream of new releases in the beauty world, it's easy to neglect former favourites. They may have hit the market a couple of years ago, but I still adore the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers, especially during the latter half of the year. I'm not one for buying whole ranges straight away in case I'm not a fan of the formula, but over time, I've amassed quite a collection of these lip gloss/lipstick hybrids.
As soon as September arrives, I get all excited. Not only is it my birthday on the 6th, but the season starts to transition from summer to autumn, which is my favourite time of year. Layering up in chunky knits, the crisp air, cozy nights in, burning candles and the festive cups from Starbuck's - I love it. Best of all, I of course adore the beauty trends and, predictably, my favourites from last month reflect the changes that I've been making when it comes to my makeup.

Now that Autumn is well on the way, it's time to shun the brighter shades that are synonymous with summer. It isn't quite late enough in the year to start sporting darker, berry lipsticks just yet though, so nudes are the perfect, transitional option. A total failsafe, a nude lip pulls any look together and always looks sophisticated, whatever the season or occasion. For a little luxury, I think a premium formula makes an everyday, safe shade that bit more special and I have five, high-end favourites that I adore.

It's been a while since I've put together a current favourites post. Unintentionally, there had been a lull in the amount of beauty buying I'd done and, apart from the usual suspects which I repeatedly rave about, I didn't try anything new that I was blown over by. Standard procedure resumed recently, though, with my purse seeing a bit more action and my beauty drawers being raided to rediscover neglected products.
I'm Alice and I'm a shopaholic, especially when it comes to beauty products. One of my favourite things to do is to hit the aisles of Boots and peruse the premium counters in department stores, searching for new additions to my collection. But, as much as I can't wait to get my hands on the waves of never-ending new releases, I have a selection of trusty ol' favourites that I'd be lost without. If I've repurchased a product, that speaks volumes about how much I rate it, so here's five makeup must-haves that I need to have in my stocks at all times.
From YSL to NYX, practically every brand now offers a lipstick/gloss hybrid and they're always what I gravitate towards, during Summer. As they're one of my favourite beauty brands, when Dior released their Dior Addict Fluid Sticks last year, I was more than excited. After using them solidly, this summer, I thought it was about time I spread the love and reviewed them for you.
It's silly that sporting a bright, coral lip on a sunny day instantly makes me feel happier, but it does. There's something about the peachy-pink shade that just screams summer and, now that June has arrived, there's going to be a coral colour permanently plastered on my pout. So, I thought I'd share with you the current trio residing in my makeup bag that suit varying budgets.
April was a busy month for me, as all my weekends were taken up with various trips away. As packing and unpacking bags isn't my favourite job, I pretty much kept the same items in my beauty bags for the whole month. Usually, I get bored when I stick with using the same products for too long, especially when it comes to makeup, but not this time.
For Spring, Bourjois have released a new version of their Rouge Editions, the Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Lacque Lip Lacquers. After being impressed by the matte formulation, I had high hopes for these glossy alternatives. Promising a mirror-like shine and intense colour in a moisturising, non-sticky formula, I was excited to get my hands on Bourjois' new additions. Out of the eight shades on offer, ranging from subtle nudes to vibrant brights, I picked up three.

Nars Dolce Vita, Niagara & Mayflower Lipstick Review + Swatches
12:17Alice Grace
Duty free is a dangerous place. On returning from sun, sea and sand, you need a post-holiday blues pick-me-up. Where better to find one than at the beauty counters whilst bored, burnt and with some leftover foreign money in your purse, waiting for a stuffy flight home. Nars was my weakness on this occasion and, having only tried one of their lipsticks before, it was time to try out some more. With one hand covered in swatches and looking a bit rashy, I ended up taking three shades to the till and I don't regret it one bit.

Tom Ford 01 In The Buff Lip Color Sheer Lipstick Review + Swatch
18:20Alice Grace
Tom Ford makeup products are the one. Beautiful in every way, they exude luxury and, as to be expected, the price tag reflects that. Gulp. Released in Spring 2014, the Tom Ford Lip Color Sheer Lipsticks are still available, but I doubt they'll be around for much longer. As soon as the words limited-edition are heard, my lust for any lipstick turns up a notch. Considering the eye-watering expense, the sensible part of my brain likes to kick in, making sure I choose a shade that I know I'll wear when handing over so much money. This time, I opted for 01 In The Buff.
I apologise. As of late, my attention has waned in regards to my blog. The last, few months have probably been some of the busiest of my life, so far. Not only did I go travelling for a few weeks, but my other half graduated, we went to visit family in Norwich and most stressful of all, we moved to Yorkshire. All of which set me back with posting. Not so long ago I promised to get back into the swing of things, but this time it's fo' reals and I'm bringing you my current, stand-out products. There hasn’t been much time for me to try out lots of new products or even to spend much time at all on beauty, recently. But, I have discovered some summer saviours that can banish even the driest, sun-scorched skin and and can help you when the heat all gets a bit too much. Plus, a couple of little extras that I just couldn't resist!
Summer is finally here and it's time to mix things up beauty-wise. To make the transition from Spring to Summer, there's a few makeup trends that I intend to incorporate into my look, including natural-looking, glowing skin and a bright lip.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks Review + Swatches
15:13Alice Grace
Clearly, I can't stop. Picking up lip crayons has become a bit of an issue for me. It's such a habit, that I find myself making the purchases without even thinking, getting a nice surprise when I come across them in my lip drawer. My last foray into the chubby stick realm was definitely a conscious one, though. After hearing so much praise regarding Soap & Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks, I made it my mission to go and get a couple.

Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipsticks Review + Swatches
17:25Alice GraceSo, it seems that we aren't going to be seeing the back of chubby stick-esque lip crayons, any time soon. Bourjois are the latest brand to have a pop at producing their take on the wind-up lipstick/gloss trend with the Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipsticks. But, how do they match up to the rest on the market?
As soon as the Summer collections are out from each beauty brand, I usually end up with a list as long as my arm, filled with items that I'm lusting after. Dior are always a brand that present a collection that has every beauty addict drooling and as I'm sure you'll agree, the Birds of Paradise collection was no different. This time round, it was the Dior Jelly Lip Pens that topped my to-buy digest, as Dior lip products are some of my all-time favourites. I wasn't disappointed, either.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Collection, Review + Swatches
17:59Alice Grace
Now, I know that the Revlon Lip Butters are kind of old news, seeing they've been out for so long and the whirlwind has since passed, but I just had to give them a post of their own. Spring/Summer is the perfect time of year to whip out these bad boys, as the formula is gorgeous, along with the colourful, bright shade range. When they were first released, I picked up just 4 of the total line, showing some rare restraint, I must say. Since then, there's been new additions to the permanent range and also some limited-edition shades, to tempt us further.
So, I thought I'd share with you the contents of my makeup bag, telling you about and showing you what I'm currently using religiously. I often forget about just how great the staples that I have in my various routines are, as I'm always searching for products which might top them. With new products constantly coming out, various collections being released and the sudden surges of hype about another must-have, my poor, little selection of holy grail products get a bit neglected. I'm sure I'm not the only culprit of that, am I?

Dior's new range of Rouge Dior Lipsticks is just so gorgeous that I've had to restrain myself a lot when perusing my local counter. So as not to get carried away, I decided to purchase the one I found myself drawn to most and then possibly pick up another (five?!) depending on just how much I loved the formula. So, will I be returning anytime soon after purchasing the beautiful 339 Sillage?
